JAMMU, May 12: Relaxation in upper age limit for J&K Combined Competitive Examination (JKCCE) is a remarkable decision by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha fulfilling the demand of JKCCE aspirants.
This was stated by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State president, Arun Prabhat while addressing a press conference here today.
On approval by the LG that JKCCE exams would now be held every year, Prabhat said since past several decades, there was a trend that JKCCE exams, on an average, were held after a gap of three to four years.
“No serious efforts were ever made to ensure that such exams were conducted on yearly basis. It was BJP’s demand that JKCCE exams are conducted on yearly basis,” he said.
Prabhat said that J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina also raised the youth-oriented issues and took up this particular matter with Lieutenant Governor to ensure that the genuine voices of educated youths are heard at the highest level.
“A delegation of BJYM including some KAS aspirants also met the LG and raised the issue of age relaxation with him,” he maintained adding that they also submitted a memorandum to the LG demanding upper age limit relaxation for open merit candidates to 35 years instead of 32 years and for reserved category candidates and in-service candidates to 37 years instead of 34 years and 38 years for physically challenged candidates.
BJYM State media secretary, Chetan Wanchoo; State secretary, Sanjay Sharma and Darshan Kumar were also present.
