REASI, Aug 22: Locals of village Kundar in Reasi district have demanded upgradation of their Government High School as the students have to travel a distance of 70 to 80 kilometres for further admission.
Having a population of around 1200 habitats, the Kundra village has four Panchayats and around 60 students, who daily visit to Reasi for studies after class 10th.
The school was established in the year 1929 as a Primary school and in 1977, it was upgraded to Middle School and in 1985, institution was again upgraded to High School, said Bodh Raj, Ex-Sarpanch of village Kundar.
Since 1985, the villagers are running from pillar to post to get this school upgraded to Higher Secondary School. Memorandums in this regard were submitted to Government but their was no action, he added.
