“Unseen Blessings…”

Gehna Kochhar
Ever since We were young, We wanted to be the one who everyone loved,
A person appreciated by everyone,
A person worthy of respect,
An irreplaceable version…
The craving in us to get loved is so deep that when we are the ones who receive the love, we take that for granted, don’t we?
We are so lost counting on the people who hate us that we forget to appreciate the good things we have around us,
The people that make our lives worth living are the ones that do not even get seconds of admiration. Why?
Because we know they won’t let us go,
They’ll be here forever, which is the most misleading truth.
“Just because you know they are going to be there, does not give you the right to take them for granted, you never know when your carefree attitude can make you lose a gem in your lives.”
Just because someone is good to you and wants to see you grow does not give you any right to make them feel any less.
“The harsh reality- everyone wants to be loved & appreciated for their existence, but no one wants to love & appreciate someone else’s existence.”
We spend hours on people, not realizing the fact there is someone out there who makes us feel like home,
Who’s presence is a blessing, but it’s always unseen and hidden behind the hatred we pay the most attention to.
“If, on the one hand, there’s a single person who loves you and opens their heart in front of you, and on the other hand, millions of people who hate you for who you are, who do we trust?”
Being typical humans, we pay attention to the negativity and the hatred, isn’t it?
Even if thousands of people love us, we care about why someone hates us?
We are so carried away in wanting everyone to love us,
So deeply possessed to be the good in everyone’s books that we forget who we are.
No matter how much someone is loving us and trying to impart us hope to live a better life, all we do is care about the ones that want to hamper our growth.
“Kitna bhi koi pyaar karle,
Hamesha kami rahegi hi,
Kitna bhi koi sath dede,
Hamesha sath chootega hi,
Kitna bhi koi hasa le,
Ek din rulayega hi,
Agar yahi sochte chale,
Toh ek din koi sath rahega nahi.
Before we lose onto the one’s who love us for who we are and make us a version of ourselves that is far better than what we were before, hold onto them.
Someone rightly said,” keep your friends close & enemies closer.”
In just coping with this, we keep track of the enemies so much that we forget the real ones.
“Thousands of moments, tons of people,
We take granted unaware of the fact they might not be here forever, deeply living lives in assumptions of having them for life.”
