Unscheduled power cuts irk people

DODA, Dec 19: Long unscheduled power cuts have triggered resentment among the people here.
“We do not receive proper power supply as per schedule and frequent power cuts have become a daily affair,” said some residents of Doda District.
Claiming 12-hour long power cuts, locals of Gandoh, Bhellessa, Thathri, Kahara, Changa, Bunjwah and Chilly Pingal said the same was not acceptable to them.
Some senior citizens and political workers of different parties claimed that many areas of Thathri, Gandoh, Bunjwah and Kahara are subjected to unscheduled power cuts during these severe winters.
More locals said that worst hit areas include Tehsil Chilly Pingal, Tehsil Gandoh, Block Changa, Sub Division’s Thathri, Kahara and Tehsil Bunjwah.
The affected people said that PDD has failed to supply uninterrupted power to the inhabitants.
They appealed J&K Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha and his administration to set up a Committee to take cognizance of these issues and direct the concerned authorities to restore electricity of the affected area.
Local threatened protest if proper power supply is not made in the district.
