JAMMU, Dec 19: Police here today arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered seven stolen vehicles on his disclosure.
On December 16, 2022, a complaint was lodged at Police Post (PP) Talab Tillo by one Sanjay Abrol son of Lt. Ratan Lal Abrol of Vikas Lane, Talab Tillo that his Scooty bearing registration no. JK02BM-1004 was stolen from the parking area of Exodus at Talab Tillo.
On receipt of the information, a case in FIR No. 152/2022 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
Under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Swati Sharma a team led by SHO Nowabad Inspector, Vijay Sharma assisted by I/C PP Talab Tillo PSI Sonu Choudhary rounded up a suspect Abass Khan son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Jakhani, Udhampur presently at Bagwati Nagar.
During sustained questioning, he confessed involvement in the case and on his disclosure seven two-wheelers were recovered.
The recovered two wheelers included Scooty Activa bearing registration no. JK02BM 1004, Scooty Activa bearing registration no. JKO2BN 3027, Scooty Activa bearing registration no. JK02BA 2321, Scooty JK02AT 5984, motorcycle with number JK02CK 5271, Splendour motorcycle of Black Colour with Engine No. HA10AGHHGA8180 and another Splendour motorcycle of black colour with Chasiss No. MBLHAWO94KHJ77513.
The whole operation was done under the supervision of SP North Kulbir Handa.
Further investigation of the case was going on.
