RAJOURI, Aug 31: University Polytechnic, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, organised an interactive session on “Admission Counselling and Future Prospects for the students of Peer Panjal Region”.
The counselling session was organized at BDC Office Kotranka, Budhal, Rajouri. Vice Chancellor BGSBU, Prof Akbar Masood said that for the greater benefit of the people of Rajouri and Poonch in particular, the University has slashed the fee structure up to 50 percent. He invited the student community to seek admission in various job oriented courses offered by University Polytechnic.
BDC Chairman Kotranka, Javid Iqbal Choudhary was the chief guest on the occasion. He spoke on the importance of skill development and urged the local populace that education and skill development are the only paths to prosperity.
During the interaction, participants were made aware about various scholarships extended by the Government of India for pursuing technical education. Participants were told about the provision of 25 percent reservation in admission for the students of the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch in different academic programmes offered by the University.
During the session, special emphasis was made on the career prospects for diploma engineering. Participants were told that admissions are open and desirous candidates can fill the admission form either online or can visit the University Polytechnic College for filling the offline form. The awareness campaign was conducted by the faculty members of the University Polytechnic, who included Er Shivinder Mehta, Er Mohd Rafiq and Er Showkat Maqbool under the supervision of Er Malik Mubasher, Principal of the University Polytechnic.
