JAMMU, Jan 18: Jammu & Kashmir Government today celebrated successful implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). The efforts and contribution of empanelled hospitals who played an important role in successfully executing this scheme were recognized at the event.
Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare GoI was the chief guest at the event along with Mr. Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lt. Governor who was the guest of honor; Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar, CEO- State Health Agency, all Heads of Departments of Health & Medical Education Department were also present at the occasion.
In his address, Ashwini Kumar Choubey congratulated the Government of Jammu and Kashmir for the effective and efficient implementation of the scheme in Jammu & Kashmir. He further said,
“The scheme has helped us contribute in providing quality healthcare to the beneficiaries across the nation. This scheme has played a crucial role in creating awareness about the benefits of health amongst the masses. I feel that the scheme will go a long way in improving health and lifestyle of the people.”
Rajiv Rai Bhatnagaralso lauded the efforts put in by State Health Agency for providing treatment to more than 50000 cases during the first year of the implementation of the scheme.
Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education apprised the Minister about the achievement made in the last one year. He apprised the dignitaries that more than 11 lakh beneficiaries have already received golden cards.
State Health Agency, J&K has been implementing this scheme in Jammu & Kashmir since December 2018. Over 155 hospitals have been empanelled across J&K and Ladakh (including both Private and Public hospitals) providing cashless treatment to the beneficiaries. Additionally, over 1800 Common Service Centers (CSC) are actively participating and have received training from the State Health Agency (SHA) and helping implement the scheme.
Ayushman Bharat is the vision of the Prime Minister to provide universal health care to the poor, needy and vulnerable sections of the country. PMJAY covers 31 lakh poor and vulnerable people in Jammu & Kashmir. It provides health assurance cover of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care for serious and catastrophic illnesses. PM-JAY provides cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiary at the point of service. A unique feature of PMJAY is its portability, which has helped the eligible poor and migrant workers to seek treatment outside Jammu & Kashmir.
During the felicitation ceremony Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura Srinagar, Government Medical College Jammu, Super Specialty Hospital Jammu, Khyber Hospital Srinagar, Noora Hospital Srinagar, Al-Imdaad Dialysis Centre Srinagar, Jammu Oncology Centre, MMABM Hospital Anantnag, District Hospital Udhampur, District Hospital Reasi, Sub-District Hospital Ramnagar, Sub-District Hospital Mandi, Sub-District Hospital Mendhar, Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitra DH Anantnag, Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitra DH Udhampur and Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitra Sub-District Hospital Sopore were felicitated for their outstanding performance in implementation of the scheme.
