Union Minister, Dal dwellers call on Lt Governor

Jammu, Jan 18: Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs; Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises today met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu here at the Raj Bhavan.
Meghwal and the Lt Governor discussed about the initiatives for increasing awareness about the Parliamentary system and reaching out to the people with a view to strengthen the roots of democracy.
They also discussed about the range of issues related to the development of self-reliant and growth oriented Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The MoS also shared with the Lt Governor his views about the prevailing scenario in J&K.
A delegation of Dal dwellers, called on Lieutenant Governor.
The delegation led by Ghulam Mohd. Kachroo, President, Zamindar Association apprised the Lt Governor about various issues pertaining to the rehabilitation and welfare of the Dal dwellers.
The Lt Governor while interacting with the members of the delegation observed that the Government is taking concrete steps for the proper rehabilitation of the Dal dwellers with all basic amenities to be provided to them. He assured the delegation to review the genuine issues projected by them for their early redressal.
