Union Home Minister’s remarks on opposition significant: Balbir

JAMMU, Jan 23: Every right thinking and peace loving citizen will agree to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on role of some political leaders in J&K, wherein, he charged them of misleading youth and making provocative statements during an event of the virtual release of India’s first District Good Governance Index.
Balbir Ram Rattan, Jammu and Kashmir BJP Spokesperson, said this while terming the Union Home Minister’s remarks as totally true which exposes the type of politics being indulged in by leaders of regional political parties, particularly the National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
It has become so because both NC and PDP are fast losing political space in J&K and in a bid to remain relevant and in limelight, their leaders have chosen bashing BJP as well as programmes and policies of its government as a favourite pass time, he said.
Balbir said that after the abrogation of Article 370, democracy has been allowed to flourish at the lowest level, hundreds of central laws extended to J&K, doors opened for global investment and numerous development projects initiated at fast track mode, with the sole objective of creating employment, progress and prosperity. The leaders of said parties cannot digest all this as none of them have anything to claim as achievement of the Governments which were headed by them for decades after independence.
Balbir further said that these are the same leaders who used to publically challenge that no one could ever dare to touch Article 370 but now they are frustrated and trying to mislead the people on the promise of bringing back the special provision.
Balbir said that such elements are also trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere and trying to weaken the social fabric of the society but the people are resolute and firm in their stand against such attempts.
