UDHAMPUR, Mar 17: Ex Councilor Preeti Khajuria and senior leader Ashwani Khajuria today highlighted the issues of garbage dumps in the Udhampur town as the Municipality has allegedly stopped collecting door-to-door garbage.
Addressing a press conference, Ashwani Khajuria said that despite tendering of the work for garbage collection by the urban local body, the contractor stopped the work midway allegedly because of no payment to him for the last four months due to which residents of the entire city are suffering.
Let us understand that Udhampur is going to get the award of filth in the coming days and within four months the EO Municipality was attached to Jammu while no project has been initiated for garbage processing even as revenue is being collected in full from Udhampur,” he alleged.
Preeti Khajuria, PAP General Secretary Tej Bahadur and Shakti Devi also spoke on the occasion.
