JAMMU, Nov 26: In order to reduce the gap between general public and police as well as to strengthen police-public relationship a meeting was held by DySP Hqrs. Udhampur Gurmeet Singh accompained by SHO PS Rehambal Inspector Pushpinder Singh at Durga Shishu Vidya Mandir Middle School Kambal Danga, Udhampur in the jurisdiction of PS Rehambal. BDC Chairman Balwan Singh/ Sarpanch/Panch and other persons of the area participated in the meeting
The aim and objective of the meet was to discuss and get acquainted with the problems being faced by the inhabitants of the area. The thrust of the meet was to develop a sense of consciousness amongst the general public of the latest types of cyber crimes, making the people aware of the preventive steps to be taken and to address the issue of growing drug abuse in the youth.
General public was advised by the DySP to help and educate the youth to stay away from drugs and were encouraged to motivate them with mainstreaming measures including career counselling.
The participants were assured by the DySP Hqrs for the appropriate disposal of all the points put forth by the locals.
He also assured the participants of all possible help from police side and at the same time suggested the participants to extend their cooperation for the eradication of social evils.
