RAJOURI, Mar 15: In a theft of its first kind in Rajouri town last night, some thieves using pressure jecks, stole tyres of at least half a dozen vehicles from Jawahar Nagar and Ward No 4 area of Rajouri town.
Sources said that two Bolero vehicles, three Alto cars and a Swift car, were parked near the House of Minister for CAPD Zulfkar Ali where police guard is installed round the clock. The Army post is also at some distance from there. Despite security in the area, about 14 tyres of these vehicles were stolen over night. One of the vehicles belonged to local Tehsildar.
The victims Ali Mohd, Vikrant Sharma, Haq Nawaz and Yasir Mir reported the matter to SHO Rajouri in the morning and police started investigation into the matter. A local said that he noticed a Maruti Van in the area at around 11.40 pm and also noticed movement of three persons. Police suspect that new gang has entered the town.
