SAMBA, Nov 8: One lady was killed while four persons of a family, including two children were injured in two separate accidents in Samba district today.
According to police a woman was killed after she was hit by a truck bearing registration number JK08A 0861 at Jammu-Pathankote National Highway this evening near Sangwali More in Jatwal area.
She was identified as Kalisho Devi,70, wife of Rashal Chand of village Sandhi Ghagwal of Samba district.
She was rushed to District Hospital Samba for treatment where doctors declared her as brought dead.
In another road mishap at Jammu-Pathankot NH near Jakh four persons suffered serious injuries when four vehicle collided early in the day.
The injured have been identified as Subash Chander (42), his wife Shashi Kumar (40), daughter Lakshita (11) and son Govinda (8). They all are resident of Seswan village of Chadwal area in Kathua. The injured were rushed to Accidental Hospital Vijaypur, where from they were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) and hospital, Jammu for advanced treatment.
According to police, the accident took place around 4 pm when four members of a family heading towards Chadwal in Kathua in a car which hit a divider on NH resulting in collision with other three vehicles including a bus following it. The other two LMVs were also damaged in the accident. A case has been registered by the Samba Police and investigations are on.
