Cong stands with ex-soldiers in their fight for OROP: Bhalla

JAMMU, Nov 8: The soldiers are the pride of our nation and they are committing suicide because of the behaviour of the current government, which is shameful and totally unacceptable.
Earlier Modi Government was against the farmers and now it has turned to be against the soldiers too. Congress stands with the ex-soldiers and will continue to fight for their right of OROP, said former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla while continuing AICC’s countrywide candlelight march in RS Pura.
PYC President Pranav Shagotra, Congress State Women Wing president, Indu Pawar, ex-MLA Gharu Ram Bhagat, PCC secretary Pawan Raina, DCC Mahila Wing president Sushma Choudhary and various others spoke on the occasion.
The demonstrators carried play cards denouncing the Modi Government for its failure to fulfill the promises made to the Ex-servicemen with regard to the OROP and for the ill-treatment to the family of martyr Grewal who laid down his life for the cause of Ex-Servicemen which shows the total arrogance and insensitiveness on the part of the Central Government. They held placards which read ‘Congress ke nare, Jai Kisan Jai Jawan. Modi ke nare, Maro Kisan Maro Jawan’.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla demanded the ruling Government and PM Narendra Modi to implement the rightful OROP and give the veterans their financial dues.He expressed grave concern over the situation all along the borders and expressed solidarity with the families of martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation. He expressed concern over the hardships being faced by the border residents and demanded from the Government to provide safe shelters to them.
