JAMMU, Apr 21: Satwari police under Operation AVTAR arrested two vehicle lifters.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Varinder Singh, son of Kuldeep Single of Narwal Pain Satwari with police station Satwari stating that some unidentified persons have stolen his scooty bearing registration number JKO2BL-1704, which was parked at Higher Secondary School, MH Road Satwari.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 93/17 under Section 379 RPC was registered in police station Satwari and investigation started.
On reliable information, a team from Satwari police station apprehended two persons and recovered stolen scooty on their disclosure.
The accused have been identified as Rajat Sharma, son of Prem Nath Sharma of Satwari Cantt and Sanam Kumar Bhagat, son of Nihal Chand of Nai Basti Gandhi Nagar.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other vehicle lifting cases.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh and assisted by SI Arun Arun Slathia made the arrest under the supervision SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhay.
