Two theft cases solved, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Sept 29: Two theft cases were solved today by Jammu police by arresting the thieves and recovering stolen items from their possession.
According to a police official, a burglary took place few days back in the house of Sohal Lal, resident of Maira Mandrian area, falling under the jurisdiction of police post Chowki Choura. The theft was committed by a man spreading the fear of black magic, he added.
Acting on the complaint of the victim that he has been defrauded and golden items stolen from him by one person namely Baldev Singh, a case FIR Number 232/2021 under Section 420/IPC was registered at police station Akhnoor and further investigation started.
To solve the case, special police teams of police post of Chowki Chourah under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial were constituted. The team led by SHO police station Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar assisted by Incharge PP Chowki Choura Inspector Ankuj Kumar with the help of technical assistance and CCTV footages of the area finally rounded up the suspect namely Baldev Singh son of Sarban Singh of Arnas (Reasi).
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the case and he further disclosed that he has taken the gold items fraudulently by spreading the fear of black magic and on his disclosure stolen gold items including a necklace, 2 lockets, 3 finger rings, 2 pair of ear rings, one tikka, one nath and a chain were recovered from his possession.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma. Further investigation of the case is going on.
Meanwhile, Gujjar Nagar police also claimed to have solved a theft case that took place on September 25 in the house of Asima Sayeed wife of Fakharu Din Asrar Ahmed, resident of Iqbal Chowk (Jammu). After receiving a complaint in this connection, a case FIR Number 47/2021 under Section 457/380 of IPC was registered at police station Peer Mitha and investigation started.
Special police teams of police post Gujjar Nagar under the supervision of SDPO North Sharad Kalu were constituted to solve the case. The team led by SHO police station Peer Mitha Inspector Ajaz Haider assisted by Incharge PP Gujjar Nagar SI Nazarat Hussain with the help of technical assistance and CCTV footages of the area finally rounded up the suspect namely Shafadul Islam son of Mohd Faurkan, resident of West Bengal (at present H No 14, Gujjar Nagar, Jammu).
During sustained questioning accused confessed his involvement in the case and on his disclosure stolen items i.e silver ornaments, cell phones etc. approximately worth Rs 35,000 were recovered from him. Further investigation of the case is going on.
