RAJOURI, May 8: Police today arrested two drug peddlers with 26 grams of heroin like substance.
“During naka checking by a police team headed by SHO Police Station Rajouri Fareed Ahmed at Fatehpur near sheep farm, one vehicle bearing registration number JK11A- 2793 was intercepted in which one smuggler Irfan Khan son of Mohd Rafiq, resident of Chapriyan Rajouri, was apprehended with 6 grams of heroin like substance,” Police sources said.
Sources said the accused was arrested on spot and a case under relevant sections of law was registered. They said on disclosure of the accused, two teams of Rajouri and Thanamandi police headed by SDPO Thanamandi Dr Imtiyaz Ahmed and SHO Showkat Amin reached at a suspected location along with Tehsildar Thanamandi and started the house search during which 20 grams of more heroin like substance, an electronic weigh machine and cash to the tune of rupees 1,62500 were also recovered.
“A case FIR number 208/2022 U/S 8(a)/21/25 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Rajouri and further investigation started,” sources added.
