Two nabbed with heroin

JAMMU, May 1: Gangyal police has arrested two persons with 25 gram of heroin.
According to a police official, a routine naka was established at Gangyal Chowk during which a Zest car (bearing registration number JK02BQ-4060), which was coming from Satwari towards Bari Brahmana, was signaled to stop. However, the driver of the vehicle tried to break the naka and flee from the spot but the alert cops chased the vehicle and caught hold of it.
The two persons travelling in the vehicle were thoroughly searched by the police, who recovered 13 gram of charas from one person and 12 gram from other. Both the persons, who were identified as Sunil Kumar son of Sarwan Dass, resident of Laswara, (Bishnah, Jammu) and Ashu Choudhary son of Roshan Lal, resident of Vijaypur (Samba), were arrested on the spot and the recovered consignment seized.
The official said that during questioning the accused revealed that they had brought the consignment from Srinagar and selling the same to youth of Samba and Jammu city. More recoveries are expected as there is every possibility of involvement of more persons, he added.
In this connection, a case FIR No 36/2018 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at police station Gangyal. The arrest and recovery was made by SI Nayat Ali, SHO, police station, Gangyal, assisted by Incharge, police post Greater Kailash, SI Vicky Thappa, under the close supervision of SDPO City South, Jammu, Mohd Rafiq Manhas and SP South, Sandeep Choudhary.
