Two murdered in Hiranagar, Bishnah

KATHUA, Mar 7: Two persons were murdered in Hiranagar area of Kathua district and Bishnah area of Jammu district in two separate incidents this evening.
According to police, a retired Sub Inspector of Police was done to death by his nephew in village Pargoli of Hiranagar tehsil this evening.
He has been identified as Ramesh Chander , S/o Dina Nath of Pargoli, Hiranagar.
Sixty three year old Chander had attained superannuation from JKP five years back and he had a dispute over property with his nephew Tarseem Lal S/o Ganesh Dass.
Police said Tarseem Lal, who is a CRPF constable had an altercation with Chander this evening and as tempers ran high from both the sides the former took a wooden log and attacked his uncle who received multiple grievous injuries.
He was rushed to SDH Hiranagar by his family members where he succumbed to his injuries. The accused fled after the act.
Hirangar Police has registered a case under Section 303 CrPC and launched a manhunt to trace the accused.
The dead body of Ramesh Chander has been kept in SDH Hiranagar and it will be handed over to the family after postmortem tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, a man was murdered by two brothers residing nearby victim’s house with sharp edged weapon in village Laswara, falling under the jurisdiction of Bishnah police station.
Her has been identified as Vipan Kumar, son of Satpal, a resident of village Laswara. Police said he was attacked with sharp edged weapon by his neighbourer identified as Jarnail and Kaka, sons of Ghar Singh, resident of same area.
The victim received serious injuries in chest and died on the spot, while the accused managed to escape from the spot.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bishnah, where postmortem will be conducted tomorrow.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Bishnah Police Station and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
