KATHUA, Apr 22: One person died while three others injured after the car in which they were traveling hit an Army vehicle at Kalibari, near here, late last night.
The Kathua police has registered a case and started investigation. Police said car was in high speed and its driver failed to control the steering and hit the army vehicle resulting into death of one person and injuries to three other car borne youth.
The car bearing registration number JK02A W-0031was on way from Jammu to Kathua late last night and on reaching Janglote Morh near Kalibari it hit the army vehicle resulting in on spot death of driver of the car who has been identified as Ramesh Kumar, S/O Ashok Kumar of Jammu. The injured were identified as Aman Dogra, Son of Raj Dogra, Arun Kumar and Arjun Singh also of Jammu.
The injured were shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment. The dead body was handed over to family after postmortem today.

Meanwhile, in yesterday’s accident which took place at Sumwan when a motorbike Platina without registration number being driven by one Abdul Majid, S/o Alam Din, R/o Mahi Chak on way from towards Nagri hit a minor boy namely Harsh, S/o Onkar Nath, R/o Sumwan , Kathua age four years.
The motor cycle after hitting the boy skidded of the road and caused injuries to motorcyclist and pillion rider also.
They were identified as Abdul Majid and pillion rider Mohd Yusuf S/o Gulam Ali R/o Nagri.
With the help locals, injured child Harsh was shifted to District Hospital Kathua in a private car of one Jagir Singh along with both Abdul Majid and Mohd Yusuf.
Harsh, was given medical treatment and was later referred to GMC Jammu.
Abdul Majid, the rider of the motorbike also got fainted in the hospital and later died, despite immediate medical attention by the doctors at DH Kathua.
In this connection FIR No 125/ 2019 U/S 279/337/304A stands registered at Police Station Kathua. The postmortem of the dead body got conducted by Board of Doctors in DH Kathua today to ascertain the cause of death. Necessary ideography/photography of the postmortem process was also done, police said.
It said some rumors are being spread about the incident by some unscrupulous persons with the intention to further their hidden agenda. Police warned action against anti social elements who said it would be strictly dealt under law.
Kathua police requested people not to pay heed to any propaganda and rumors spread by vested interests and assured fair investigation in the case to unearth the truth.
