Two held with heroin worth over Rs 60 lakh

JAMMU, Apr 25: Police in Bus Stand area here claimed they have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered heroin worth more than Rs 60 lakh from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Bus Stand Police Station led by Inspector Vikas Dogra, SHO Bus Stand, under the supervision of SDPO City North, Devinder Singh Bandral and overall supervision of SP City North Shivam Sidharth stopped two suspects identified as Majid Chowdhary of Nar, Rajouri, and Mohammad Waqar of Dhanore, Rajouri, near Town Hall area on April 24, 2024.
On search of the suspects, he said, 169 grams of heroin worth over Rs 60 lakh was recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, the duo was arrested and booked in case FIR number 21/2024 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bus Stand and further investigation taken up.
