JAMMU, Apr 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the Congress had tied the hands of jawans posted on the borders but his Government has given them free hand (to deal with any situation) and has also taken up several welfare measures for the soldiers.
Addressing a mammoth public rally at Morena in Madhya Pradesh, Modi said his Government has given free hand to the soldiers (deployed on the borders).
“If one bullet is fired, it should be replied with 10 bullets. If one shell is fired, 10 guns should open up,” the Prime Minister said,
He regretted that the Congress had tied hands of our soldiers but the present Government has given them free hand to operate.
Modi also referred to implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme for the jawans which benefitted them a lot.
The Prime Minister said that former PM Rajiv Gandhi had abolished Inheritance Tax in 1985 after his mother Indira Gandhi’s death to save her wealth from going to the Government.
If the Congress comes to power, it will snatch more than half of the earnings of the people through Inheritance Tax, Modi said.
He said the Congress wants to confiscate people’s jewellery and small savings by conducting an X-ray of their properties and valuables.
“Listen with your ears wide open about the sins that the Congress has committed. I want to put forth an interesting fact. When sister Indira Gandhi passed away, there was a law by virtue of which half portion of the wealth used to go to the Government. There was a talk then that Indira Gandhi willed her wealth in her son Rajiv Gandhi’s name,” the Prime Minister said.
“To save the money going to the Government, the then PM Rajiv Gandhi abolished the Inheritance Tax,” he added.
Modi said that as long as the BJP is there, it will not allow any designs like imposition of Inheritance Tax to succeed.
Addressing another rally at Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Modi hit out at the alliance of Samajwadi Party and Congress in UP and alleged that “do shehzade” (two princes) have come together for the politics of appeasement.
Without taking any names but in an apparent attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, Modi said, “Can you expect development from the flop pair of ‘Do ladkon ki jodi’ (a pair of boys)?”
“Politics of appeasement is the biggest reason for the “do shehzade” to come together,” he said.
At another rally at Bareilly in UP, Modi attacked the INDIA bloc parties, saying they are seeking votes for changing the Constitution to provide religion-based reservation while he wants 400 seats to prevent them from snatching away the quota rights of people belonging to the SC, ST and OBC communities.
“INDI alliance is seeking votes for changing the Constitution to provide religion- based reservation. I am asking for 400 seats to put a lock on their plans to rob the reservation to the SC, ST and OBC people. I need 400 seats so that no one takes away your rights,” he said.
