Two held with heroin

JAMMU, July 24: Two drug peddlers were arrested today by Jammu police from separate places in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a police party of police post Greater Kailash during patrolling at Fawara Chowk intercepted one person carrying a bag who was roaming in suspicious circumstances.
“During checking, 5.2 g heroin like substance was recovered from his possession,” he said, adding the accused was identified as Amarjeet Singh son of Charan Jeet Singh, a resident of House No 81, Sector No 5, Model Town, Gangyal.
The official said that a case FIR No 73/2019 under Section 8/21/22 of NDPS Act was registered at police station Gangyal and the accused was arrested. The arrest was made by SHO Gangyal, Sunil Jasrotia.
Similarly, the official said that a police party of police station Nagrota during naka checking at Ban Toll Plaza intercepted one person namely Abhinandan Khajuria son of Davinder Khajuria, resident of Indira Nagar (Udhampur), who was on the way towards Udhampur from Jammu in his Maruti 800 car.
He said that during checking, 1.4 g heroin like substance was recovered from his possession and the accused was arrested while a case FIR No 302/2019 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act was registered at police station Nagrota.
