Two held with heroin

JAMMU, June 4: Police in Jammu’s Miran Sahib area claimed today that they have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered from their possession 11.5 grams of heroin.
A police spokesperson said that during a routine checkpoint established near Village Langotian, a police team led by SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna, along with SHO PS Miran Sahib, Inspr Zaheer Mushtaq, apprehended two individuals on a motorcycle.
He said they were identified as Showkat Ali and Mohammad Hussain, both residents of Chak Mohammad Yaar, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
A search of the accused resulted in the seizure of 11.50 grams of heroin, he said.
Following their arrest, he further said, a case FIR number 111/2023 under Sections 8/21/22/29/60 of the NDPS Act was registered at PS Miran Sahib.
Police have started further investigation, he added.
