JAMMU, Nov 7: Police arrested two narcotic smugglers along with large quantity of intoxicants from Kunjwani area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station.
A police spokesman said that, police team from Gangyal police station laid a naka at Kunjwani and intercepted two pedestrians on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 300 bottles of banned syrup and 144 intoxicant capsules and arrested both the accused, who have been identified as Abid Hussain Sofi, son of Ashiq Hussain Sofi of Noor Bagh, Sopore and Wasim Raza, son of Bashir Ahmed of Shallpura, Sopore.
A case under FIR number 152/14 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gangyal police station and investigation started.
Police team led by ASI Mohammad Din made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gangyal Inspector Ajay Jamwal, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
