RAJOURI, Nov 7: Excise sleuths conducted series of raids at several places in Rajouri and Nowshera area and seized 170 liters illicit liquor, destroyed 750 kg lahan and arrested six persons in this connection.
Official sources said that an Excise team led by Inspector Excise Sub Range Rajouri, Dr Sajjad Majid under the supervision of ETO Rajouri-Poonch Range, Salam Din Choudhary conducted raids at Swari, Muradpur, Rajal, Bagnoti, Narian, Lam, Jhangar, Kha, Jawahar Naghar (Rajouri), Kallar, Bathuni, Nanyal, Garati, Argi, Potha, Chingus and several other areas in last two days seized nearly 170 liters of illicit liquor and arrested four persons in this connection. Seven working stills and 750 kg of lahan were destroyed on the spot by the raiding team.
Those arrested and booked under Excise Act were identified as Manjit Singh of Patta, Rajesh Kumar of Kallar, Som Raj of Swari, Ravi Kumar of Narian,, Surinder Kumar of Nowshera and Mukesh Kumar of Jawahar Nagar.
