JAMMU, Mar 27: At least two people ended their lives by hanging in separate incidents here on Monday, police said.
They said one Adarsh Kumar (23) son of Chaman Lal of Galwaday Chak, Marh, was found hanging at his home.
“He was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu where doctors pronounced him as dead on arrival,” police said.
Meanwhile, in another incident, one Meenu Devi (45) wife of Khem Raj of Amb Gharota was also found hanging at her home.
“She was also declared as dead on arrival at GMC&H Jammu,” said police.
Police have launched inquest proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC to ascertain the reasons as to why the duo took such extreme steps to end their lives.
