Two drug peddlers arrested with heroin, poppy straw

JAMMU, Nov 2: Bahu Fort and Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered heroin and poppy straw from their possessions.
As per police sources, during routine patrolling, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort asked a person to stop near Rajeev Nagar Chowk, Narwal who was moving suspiciously. On seeing cops, the man tried to run away from the spot. He was chased by the alert cops and apprehended.
During search, police team recovered 11.50 grams heroin from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Anil Kumar, a resident of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 356/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by PSI Sunil Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Sajjad Sarwar and SP South Deepak Digra.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli laid a naka and intercepted Innova car bearing registration number DL7CG-0329.
During checking, police team recovered 31.290 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Jasvir Singh, son of Mahinder Singh of District Sangrur Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 172/2021 under Section 8/15/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
