Two drug peddlers arrested with banned syrup bottles, ganja

JAMMU, May 26: Two drug peddlers have been arrested along with banned syrup bottles and heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team headed by DySP Sajjad Sarwar and assisted by SHO Banihal Inspector Aijaz Ahmed Wani laid naka at T-Chowk Banihal and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK05E-7239.
During checking, police team recovered 700 banned syrup bottles from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Mudassir Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed Tantray of District Baramulla.
A case under FIR Number 66/19 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Talab Tillo Police Post led by SI Anil Sharma while on patrolling duty apprehended a drug peddler along with 1 kilograms of ganja.
The arrested person has been identified as Santosh Kumar Chandra, son of Daya Ram Chandra of Chattisgarh, at present Poonch House, Talab Tillo.
A case under FIR Number 80/19 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
