JAMMU, May 26: Asha Kiran Welfare Society (AKWS) in collaboration with SVMM Charitable Hospital Ambphalla here today organized a free eye check-up camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, President, SVMM, Ex-Union MoS Defence at Baba Lal Ji Temple.
Dr. Ghanshyam Singh and Dr. Sharuti Gupta, Eye Specialists along with supporting staff including Samiha Khajuria, Vinod Arora, Mohan Lal Sharma also extended their services in the camp.
Over 180 patients were screened for different eye related ailments and 20 of them were detected for cataract surgery.
Prof. Gupta in his inaugural speech appreciated the efforts of AKWS for providing services to the needy and poor people by organising such camps.
He also said that SVMM Hospital Ambphalla will cooperate in cataract surgery to the identified patients.
Dr. J.P Gupta, Chairman; Jaswant Manhas, Vice President; Surinder Sharma, Subhash Sharma, Romesh Lal Gupta, Ram Chand, Hari Chand Gupta, Rajan Handa, Ram Chand, Surinder Bhasin and other executive members of the society were also present in the eye camp.
