Two die of COVID, cases cross 800 in J&K

Ladakh adds 11 positives

JAMMU, Aug 5: Two persons died of COVID-19 while cases crossed 800 in Jammu and Kashmir today. Ladakh recorded 11 new cases.
One casualty and 633 new cases were registered in Kashmir while one fatality and 190 cases were reported from Jammu region.
A 60-year-old man from village Dhindhay Khurd in Bishnah tehsil of Jammu district died of co-morbidities and COVID-19 at the Military Hospital Satwari.
This has taken COVID toll in Jammu district to 1233 and Jammu division to 2346. Jammu and Kashmir has total Corona toll of 4776.
Among 190 cases in Jammu division, 118 were reported from Jammu district, 17 in Kishtwar, 12 Ramban, 11 Doda, eight each in Rajouri and Samba district, seven in Poonch, six Kathua and three in Udhampur district.
Reasi district didn’t report any fresh cases today.
Jammu and Kashmir now has 5133 active positive cases including 3707 in Kashmir division and 1426 in Jammu region.
Jammu district has highest number of 879 active cases in Jammu division.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 11 COVID positive cases, all in Leh district.
The UT of Ladakh now has 83 active cases—69 in Leh and 14 in Kargil.
