Two die of COVID, 73 test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 14: Two persons died and 73 tested positive for COVID-19 while 65 others recovered from the virus in Jammu and Kashmir.
A 75-year-old man from Ekta Vihar in Gangyal area of Jammu died of ailments and virus in Dayanand Medical College (DMC) Ludhiana. His body was brought to the GMC Jammu as per COVID protocol for cremation, Medical Superintendent Dr Dara Singh said.
A 58-year-old man from Ellahibagh Soura in Srinagar succumbed to COVID-19 in a hospital in the Valley.
Fifteen persons tested positive for Coronavirus in the Jammu region—14 in Jammu district and one in Poonch while eight other districts didn’t report any fresh case today.
Sixteen persons recovered from the virus including 13 in Jammu district, two Ramban and one in Rajouri.
Jammu region now has 51758 Corona cases. Among them, 160 are active positives and 50873 have recovered from the virus while there have been 725 casualties.
Among the casualties, maximum 373 have been reported from Jammu district followed by 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 53 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 16 in Reasi district.
Meanwhile, two new COVID cases were today reported in Leh district in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Ladakh now has only 45 active positive cases, 38 in Leh and seven in Kargil.
Meanwhile, 58 people in Kashmir today tested positive for COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 37 from Srinagar, Baramulla 2, Budgam 4, Pulwama 5, Kupwara 0, Anantnag 7, Bandipora 0, Ganderbal 1 and Shopian 1.
In J&K, out of 125341 positive cases, 622 are active, 122768 have recovered and 1951 have died including 1226 in Kashmir division.
And out of 4846627 COVID-19 tests conducted so far, 4721286 were negative and 125341 positive.
Moreover, 65 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals today including 49 from Kashmir.
