Two die, 2 injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, May 5: Two persons including a baby died and two others were injured in different road accidents in South Kashmir today.
A Police spokesperson said a tipper bearing registration number JK01M/0047 driven by Mudasir Ahmad, son of Abdul Majid resident of Samboora, Pulwama while on way from Srinagar to Pulwama lost control over the tipper and fell down in river Jehlum at Pandrethan, Srinagar, resulting in the death of the driver. The body was fished out and handed over to his relatives for last rites.
An unidentified vehicle hit a Santro car bearing registration number JK01L/5773 driven by Shamim Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Naik Bagh Nowgam, Srinagar near petrol pump Sangam, Anantnag, resulting in injuries to three persons including driver of Santro Shamim Ahmad Dar, Tahira Begum Wife of Shamim Ahmad, and three years old Zahira Shamim, daughter of Shamim Ahmad residents of Naik Bagh, Nowgam, Srinagar.
All the injured were shifted to SKIMS, Srinagar where baby Zahira Shamim succumbed to her injuries. A case has been registered in this regard.
