JAMMU, Oct 4: A two-day online national seminar on “Language, Literature and Communication Skills: A Comprehensive Approach to Human Life” commenced today in Government P G College for Women, Gandhinagar, Jammu.
The seminar was organized by Department of English of the College. Participants from various universities and colleges all across the country participated in the seminar. Prof Posh Charak (Retired) was the guest of honour and Principal Dr Sangita Nagari, presided over the function.
The keynote speaker for the seminar was Prof Nandini Bhattacharya, Department of English and Culture Studies, University of Burdwan, West Bengal. She spoke on the topic “Revisiting Raja Rammohan Roy and the Globalization of English.”
In the first session of the seminar, Dr Garima Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of English, University of Jammu, spoke on the topic, “Language, Literature and Communication Skills: Configuring Convergences.
The second lecture of the session was delivered by Prof Vijay Choudhary, Head, P G. Department of English G T Patil College, Arts, Commerce & Science Nandurbar, Maharashtra.
The first session of the seminar concluded with vote of thanks presented by Chetna Mahajan, Assistant Professor.
