JAMMU, Sept 19: A two-day medical awareness cum screening camp on fatty liver was inaugurated today at Jammu Airport.
Dr Bharat Bhushan Gupta, a renowned personality, ex-Professor and Head, Division of Gastroenterology, Government Medical College, Jammu, organized the camp as a commitment towards the social-cause on the initiative of SSP anti-hijacking Jammu, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, as a welfare measure for the police and allied agencies working at the airport.
On this occasion, a large number of specialists performed the medical tests, such as Fibrosis-scan, Thyroid (T3, T4, TSH), liver function tests, hemoglobin, sugar etc for all the staff of police/airport staffers free of cost. The facility has also been extended to other organizations working at Airport, which inter-alia includes Airport Authority of India, different Airlines and others.
More than 200 police officials and personnel of sister-agencies are being screened during the camp and given medical advice. Besides this, diagnosis regarding BMI and waist-hip ratio are also being conducted.
A detailed documentary was also shown to the audience. Dr SD Singh, IGP Jammu and DK Gautam, Director Airport, were also present.
