Two day ISTE Workshop ‘Aakash for Education’ concludes

JAMMU, Nov 11: Two day ISTE Workshop “Aakash for Education” organised by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) with IIT Bombay under Research and Development Project concluded today, which was attended by Dean, Directors and faculty members of different Schools of Engineering, Management, Sciences and Philosophy.
The unique feature of the workshop was that the lectures delivered lecturers by live broadcasting from IIT Bombay using the A-view (Virtual Classroom Software) and the participants interacted with speakers in real time using the A-view software.
Aakash tablets have been introduced to the participants and applications specially developed for Aakash tablet at IIT Bombay, for effective use of these tablets in the educational process.
The topics covered in the workshop includes Introduction to tablet computers and Aakash, Applications available on Android platform, Special educational applications, licker software for conducting tests, Proximity application to develop interactive lessons, etc.
Earlier, Dr Naveen Kumar Gondhi, Aakash Coordinator and Director Incharge, Network Centre, SMVDU inaugurated the workshop.
