One more dies in Leh, 76 new cases

JAMMU, Oct 31: Two more persons today died of COVID-19 and 161 tested positive in Jammu region while 287 recovered from the virus. The Union Territory of Ladakh also reported one death and 76 new cases.
A 50-year-old man from Upper Barnai in Jammu district who was under treatment at CMC Ludhiana for pathogen died there today while a 63-year-old man hailing from village Chohala in RS Pura tehsil died in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu of co-morbidities and COVID.
In Jammu region, 161 persons today tested positive for Coronavirus including 110 in Jammu district, 99 of whom were locals and 11 travelers.
As many as 63 persons reported positive in Jammu district during Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) including four in Marh, three RS Pura, two each Akhnoor and Sohanjana and one each at Pallanwalla and Bishnah.
Eight persons tested positive in Kathua district, seven each Rajouri and Udhampur, six each Poonch, Samba, Kishtwar and Ramban district, four Reasi and one in Doda district.
Among 287 persons, who recovered from the virus, 193 belonged to Jammu district, 30 Poonch, 22 Udhampur, 14 Kishtwar, 13 Doda, eight Rajouri, six Kathua and one in Ramban district. No recoveries were reported from Samba and Reasi districts.
Jammu region now has 37789 Corona cases including 1860 active positives as 35434 persons have recovered from the virus. There have been 495 Corona fatalities in the region.
Of 495 COVID casualties, 257 have been reported from Jammu district, 47 Rajouri, 46 Doda, 32 Udhampur, 31 Kathua, 25 Samba, 22 Poonch, 14 Kishtwar, 13 Ramban and eight in Reasi district.
The Union Territory of Ladakh today reported one Corona casualty and 76 cases including 69 in Leh and seven in Kargil district taking Corona count to 6270—4395 in Leh and 1875 in Kargil.
There were 656 active positives—522 Leh and 134 Kargil as 5539 patients have recovered from the virus—3836 in Leh and 1703 in Kargil.
Today’s Corona fatality was reported from Leh. With this, Corona toll in Ladakh has gone up to 75 including 37 in Leh and 38 in Kargil.
