JAMMU, Feb 6: There is no coordination in the Administration of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu which is evident from two separate orders issued today on same subject—one by Principal of the hospital and the other by Medical Superintendent (MS) of the hospital.
According to one order, Dr Lovely Koul, Assistant Surgeon, GMCH will work in the casualty from 3 pm to 9 pm on regular basis as officer In-charge while the other order issued on same day says that Dr Sauqib Shafi, Assistant Surgeon (MO) will work in the casualty from 4 pm to 10 pm on regular basis as officer In-charge.
The order No GMC/PS/order/100 issued by Principal, GMCH, Dr Ghansham Dev, says “In order to ensure smooth functioning of the Emergency, Dr Lovely Koul, Assistant Surgeon, Medical College Hospital, Jammu, shall work in the casualty from 3 pm to 9 pm on regular basis as officer In-charge Security and shall also look after all other Administrative issues during her duties. Further, the CMOs on night duty shall also look after the security or other Administrative issues in addition to his or her regular assignment”.
However, contradicting first order another (order No GMCH/2015/13238-43 dated 5-2-2015) issued today by MS, GMCH, Dr Ravinder Ratan Pal says that Dr Sauqib Shafi, Assistant surgeon (MO) shall henceforth deployed in the casualty for duty from 4 pm to 10 pm on regular basis as officer In-charge, Security as well as legal issues and shall also look after all other Administrative issues.
These contradicting orders have created confusion among the doctors fraternity.
