JAMMU, June 4: Chatha police arrested two burglars and recovered stolen gold necklace worth around Rs 1 lakh from them.
As per police sources, on June 1, a lady namely Gurmeet Kour, wife of Sandeep Singh, a resident of Govindpur Kullian lodged a written complaint with Chatha police post stating that on May 31, some unknown persons entered her house and had stolen gold necklace by breaking the lock of the almirah.
Acting over the complaint, a case under relevant Sections was registered at Satwari police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
Police team from Chatha police station conducted number of raids and finally succeeded in nabbing the burglars.
The accused have been identified as Harmandeep Singh, son of Baljit Singh of Karan Bagh and Ramanjot Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh of Bhour Camp.
On this disclosure, stolen gold necklace worth Rs 1 lakh was recovered.
Further questioning of the burglars is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Chatha police post SI Krishan Raina made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
