KATHUA, Oct 16: In a tragic road accident two bikers were killed while two pillion riders were injured seriously after their two bikes coming from opposite direction in a fast speed collided with each other at village Sanyal Morh near Jasmergarh Fort under the jurisdiction of Hiranagar Police Station in Kathua district today.
The dead were identified as Puran Chand, 45, Son of Shalu Ram of Phalapur, Hiranagar and Avinash Kumar 25, Son of Sansar Chand of village Ban in Chann Arorian, tehsil Mareen in Kathua district. The two injured pillion riders included Sahlu Ram father of Puran Chand and Arjan Dass.
Police said the bikes of Puran Chand and Avinash Kumar which were coming from opposite direction collided with each other in village Sanyal Morh as both the bikers were in fast speed and they could not control their two wheelers at the sharp cure resulting into their serious head injuries. Two pillion riders which were on two bikes also were injured. They were taken to Sub District Hospital, Hiranagar by the people of near by village who also informed the police about the accident. After giving first aid at SDH Hiranagar all the four were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu where the two bikers succumbed to their injuries while the two pillion riders are stated to be serious.
Hiranagar Police has registered a case under Section 279/337/304 RPC and started investigation.
