Two arrested with large quantity of illicit liquor

JAMMU, Oct 1: Akhnoor and Kanachack Police arrested two persons along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Akhnoor Police Station led by SHO Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar laid a naka near Fowara Chowk and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02BF-6018.
During checking, police team recovered 100 quarters of illicit liquor from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Bhushan Kumar, son of Milkhi Ram of Gurha Brahmana Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 163/2020 under section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Kanachack Police Station led by SHO Inspector Vishav Partap Singh laid a naka near Mishriwala and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AT-5014.
During checking, police team recovered 53 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the motorcyclist and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Sumit Kumar, son of Bihari Lal of Manyal Brahmana Tehsil Marh District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 157/2020 under section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and further investigation into the case is going on.
