JAMMU, June 4: The sleuths of Excise Department arrested two persons along with 90 kilograms lahan and 6 bottles of illicit liquor in Akhnoor.
As per official spokesman, under the direction of Excise Commissioner Mohammad Javed Khan and supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise team led by ETO Excise Range North Tinna Mahajan, Inspector Excise Sub Range Akhnoor Harish Sharma along with excise staff conducted raids in Balla, Sathal Badgal and Nardi areas of Tehsil Akhnoor.
During raids, police arrested two persons Parmeet Kour, wife of late Vikram Singh of Nardi and Charan Dass, son of late Mangal Ram of Badgal, Tehsil Akhnoor along with 90 kilograms of lahan and 6 bottles of illicit liquor. The lahan and illicit liquor were destroyed later.
The arrested persons have been booked under Section 48-A Excise Act for possession of illicit liquor.
