Two 82 mm live mortar shells found on IB in Samba

JAMMU, Oct 10: Two live mortar shells were recovered by the villagers in the fields along the International Border in Samba district.
“Two live mortar shells of 82 mm were recovered near forward Chilayari and Rangroor Posts in Ramgarh Sector by the villagers and they informed the BSF,” official sources here today said.
They said the shell near Chilayari Post was noticed by Rajinder Kumar and Rattan Lal of the same village while another was noticed by one Dharam Pal in Rangroor area.
“The shells were seized on the spot and handed over to the BSF,” they said.
The shells reportedly have landed during the ongoing cross border firing along the border.
Meanwhile, the panic has gripped the people after the recovery of the mortar shells and people hesitate to move in the fields freely.
