JAMMU, Nov 18: Twelve persons were injured in two separate road accidents occurred in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a mishap occurred late last night in Gharota area, where a speeding Bolero vehicle returning from a marriage party (at Rabta) collided with another vehicle coming from opposite side. He said in the mishap, nine returnees of the marriage party (travelling in the Bolero vehicle) received injuries.
He said that the injured persons were identified as Vinay Kumar (20) of Amb Gharota, Jagdish Raj (24) of Ranjan, Sheela (50) of Gandhi Nagar, Raghubeer (40) and his wife Bindu (32) of Kot, Jyoti (40) of New Plot, Tanvi (24) of Kot, Anish Kumar (16) of Ranjan and Gulshan (19) of Amb Gharota.
“All the injured persons were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, (GMCH) Jammu for treatment while a case FIR number 92 under Sections 279/337 IPC was registered in this connection at police station Gharota and further investigation initiated,” the official added.
Meanwhile, he said, three persons were also injured in Sunderbani area when an Alto car (registration number JK02P-6354) in which they were travelling from Sunderbani towards Bhambla, was hit by a speeding car bearing registration number JK02BJ-0405 at Ria Siot. The injured persons were identified as Mohd Fiaz (45) son of Sian of Makol (Sunderbani) and his sons, Mohd Asif (12) and Shakeel Ahmed (14).
“All the injured were taken to GMCH Jammu for medical treatment and a case was registered in this connection in police station Akhnoor,” the official added.
