TSPC demands protection of Hindu shrines, temples in Valley

JAMMU, Dec 14: Temples and Shrines Prabandhak Committee (TSPC) Tral-Awanti-pora  has urged the Government to remove all encroachments form the land of Hindu shrines and temples in the area as well as other places in Kashmir valley.
The demand was made in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Committee which was  under the chairmanship of its president Jawahar Lal Pandita at Surya Bhawan Martand Paloura near, here.
Laying emphasis on preserving of temples, shrines and other religious properties of Hindus, Pandita said that these are symbols of our identity and a link to our roots.
He said it is prime duty of the Government to protect the religious properties of Hindus in Valley and demanded that the Government should enact a law for protection of temples and shrines in Kashmir.
He assured full cooperation to the KP organizations which will sincerely and honestly work for the betterment of the Committee.
He said the TSPC will extend full support to those organisations who will work for unity in the community.
General secretary of the Committee C L Bhat presented the annual report, T K Bhat managed the stage and C L Bhat presented the vote of thanks. Bharat Indu Pandita treasurer presented the income expenditure statement while Som Nath Pandita, Dr B L Koul, Rattan Lal Raina and Dr Ramesh Bhat shared the dais with the president.
