RAMBAN, Nov 17: Patnitop police arrested a truck driver along with seven kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, police team from Patnitop police post laid a naka and intercepted an apple boxes laden truck bearing registration number PB10BZ-0814. During checking, police recovered 7 kilograms of poppy straw, which was concealed in apple boxes.
The truck driver identified as Manjeet Singh (45), son of Jeet Singh, a resident of Churwal, Ludhiana was arrested on the spot.
A case under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Batote police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge police post Patnitop SI Mohammad Irfan made the arrest under the supervision of SP Headquarters Ramban NS Parihar and SSP Ramban Javed Iqbal Matoo.
