POONCH, Oct 25: The police seized a truck loaded with nine bovine animals in Gursai area of Mendhar today.
A police spokesman said that SHO Gursai, Inspector PP Singh during Naka near Bhimber Gali intercepted a truck No. JK02S/0727 but the truck driver broke the naka and sped away. The police chased the vehicle but the driver and his associate abandoned the truck at some distance ahead and escaped to the nearby jungle.
The police seized the truck and found nine bovine animals loaded in it. The cattle were rescued by police. The cattle were believed to be smuggled to Kashmir via Mughal Road. The police registered a case FIR No. 75/ 2016 against the accused persons.
