JAMMU, Sept 5: Rich tributes were paid to Sepoy Ramesh Lal on his 18th death anniversary at his native village Kalden, Suchetgarh.
Sepoy Ramesh Lal of 8th Dogra Regiment of Indian Army sacrificed his life in Poonch sector on September 5, while fighting with militants.
Martyr Ramesh Lal belonged to a brave family of jats, which migrated from Deva-Watala (now in PoJK) and settled along the Indo-Pak border at Suchetgarh sector.
While referring to the present unrest in Valley, Former Minister RS Chib said that a high power All Party Delegation (APD) comprising of Senior Parliamentarians took a bold step to reach to the people of Kashmir in order to restore peace in the Valley.
“It is ironical that the separatists refused to meet the APD. The separatists’ stands totally exposed before the Nation as their sole aim is to keep the turmoil in Kashmir on”, Chib stated.
Chib blamed Central and State Government for their soft and appeasement approach towards separatists. “It is high time to identify all pro-Pak and anti-national elements in Kashmir and they should be dealt sternly as per the law”, he demanded.
Chib while paying tributes to martyr Ramesh Lal called upon the youth to take inspiration from his martyrdom who sacrificed his life at the age of 21 in defending the unity and integrity of our country.
He called upon the people to always remember those, who have laid down their lives while defending the frontiers of our country, adding that their sacrifice will always be remembered and the nation will remain ever grateful to them.
TS Bajwa, Former MP, Rajya Sabha while paying rich tributes to Ramesh Lal, highlighted the role of Army and other security forces in defending our motherland. He made special reference about brave security personnel deployed in Kashmir.
He appealed to the people living on border to extend full co-operation to officers and jawans deployed on the border in Suchetgarh Sector.
Brigadier Harcharan Singh, Director Rajya Sainik Board, Krishna Devi, mother of Ramesh Lal, Mohan Lal, brother of Ramesh Lal, Mahinder Singh, Harnam Singh and Jaswant Singh, Sarpanchs, Kasturi Singh Chib, Arjun Singh, Munshi Ram, Harbans Lal, Captain Janak Singh, Ravinder Singh, Retd Asstt Commandant BSF and many others also paid tributes to martyr Ramesh Lal.
