JAMMU, May 14: Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Trust, Bishnah organized 2nd Annual Dr B R Ambedkar Vichar Sammelan on Sunday under that aegis of Shri Shri 108 Swami Gurdip Giri Ji Maharaj at Sukhsagar Bhawan Sikanderpur, in Jammu district.
Swami Gurdip Giri Ji delivered Pravachan on the life and mission of Bharat Rattan, Dr Ambedkar. Swami Ji stressed on the teachings of great Guru Ravi Dass ji and said that Massiha of Dalits, Bhim Rao Ambedkar educated the people of the community to impart good education to the children for their better future and raise their status. He said great Guru and other saints gave message of equality in the society. He also stressed for brotherhood.
It is pertinent to mention here that Gurdip Giri Ji has opened several schools. One such school is Mata Kalsan Memorial Convent School at Bhadroya, near Pathankot. He has started the work of Begumpura Renaissance University at Dalhousie Road, Pathankot. Administration Block has been inaugurated and other blocks are under construction.
While participating in the programme students from different schools threw light on life and mission of Dr B R Ambedkar. Natha Ram (Retd Chief Engineer) and BR Chadghal (Retd XEN) acted as judges to select 1st, second and third students. Ritu was adjudged as first Prize, Diksha and s Shabnam stood second while Priya and Khushi were adjudged third. Twelve students who delivered speeches on life and mission of Baba Saheb were also given prizes on this occasion.
On this occasion a large number of people paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar. The heads of socio-religious organization of SC/ST/OBC participated in this function.
This function was organized with the active co-operation of C L Banal, Chairman, Kesar Singh convenor, DD Shivgotra general Secy, Raj Kumar Rattan, Capt Manohar Lal, Capt Tarsem , KL Thapa, Girdhari Lal, Mulkh Ram, Kamal Kishore, Ram Singh, Charan Dass, Rattan Lal, Kulbhushan Kumar.
Yash Paul Kundal, former minister and Vijay Lochan Co-chairman SC Cell National Conference of Jammu Division and Ex-President All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha an Sham Lal Basson from Dalit Chetna Manch also spoke on the occasion.
