Tribute paid to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on birthday

JAMMU, Sept 28: Various political and social organisations paid floral tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birthday by organizing functions today.

Rich tribute were paid to Shaheed Bhagat Singh in a simple function held at Sunderbani by the Congress workers on the occasion of his 116th birthday today.
Former MLC and chief spokesperson JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion while Block president Sunderbani NC Sharma, Ex-President DN Sharma, Capt Babu Ram Sharma, Mohinder Singh, Vijay Damral, Om Parkash Sharma, Chuni Lal Sharma, Nobat Ram, Ashwani Sharma, Sonu Kohli, Sanjeev Sharma, Kasturi Lal Sharma, Capt Joginder Singh, Moti Ram and others attended.
Ex-MLC threw light on the life and sacrifices of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and asked the present generation to protect and preserve the freedom attained after long struggle and supreme sacrifices like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and large number of others.
NC Sharma, retired DFO and several other paid floral tribute to the greet freedom fighter.
Aam Aadmi Party remembered Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birthday at party office in Jammu North.
While paying tribute, AAP leaders Kuldeep Kumar Rao and O R Bhall said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh was a socialist revolutionary who fought for the independence of the country. He was born on September 28, 1907 in Bhangra village in the Lyallpur district of Punjab in British India (now in Pakistan) to a Sikh family. His father’s name was Kishan Singh and mother’s name Vidyavati.
Bhagat Singh had lived his childhood & completed his studies in Lahore, Punjab. He was a highly influential figure in his college days; he was famous among the youth. Bhagat Singh also wrote for newspapers in the Punjabi & Urdu language. He was a Revolutionary leader in the freedom struggle of India. He was hanged by the Britishers when he was just 23 years of age. He is often referred to as the Shaheed-e-Azam.
Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit today paid tribute to the brave son of Mother India, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, on his birth anniversary and urged the youth to come forward to eradicate societal evils.
During the program organized at Party office in Jammu, State president Manish Sahni along with others paid their tribute to the heroic martyr, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. Sena leaders read out quote as “Our hearts long for revolution” and “Fortunate are those who sacrifice for the nation, for they become immortal even after death.”
